Prodyut Joins The Climate Group as Technology Consultant. He is responsible for understanding barriers and challenges to scaling up low carbon technologies in India and engaging with and facilitating private and public sector players to develop pilot projects. Additionally, Prodyut’s other responsibilities includes building awareness and capacity amongst a range of stakeholders – both government and corporate and facilitating best practice sharing, facilitating pilot projects that employ smart climate solutions that are scalable and can be documented.

Prodyut has over eight years experience in programme and project development and management; mainstreaming renewable energy technologies (RETs); decentralised distributed generation (DDG) and access to energy and water.

Before joining The Climate Group, Prodyut was working with Tetra Tech/PA Consulting Group in the Water Energy Nexus Activity (WENEXA) project, which focuses on improving the energy and water use efficiency in irrigated agriculture in India and the Methane to Market project in which he assessed the potential for methane capture in various agricultural sub-sectors in India.

Prior to PA Prodyut has worked with Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, the largest Indian donor agency, in charge of the Natural Resource Management and Livelihoods portfolio in North India; Winrock International India (WII) on energy access and renewable energy; The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and Sir Ratan Tata Trust.

Prodyut holds a Master’s degree in Rural Management from the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) and a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela.
