Alfred Liangchun Deng

As Policy Programme Manager in our China office, Alfred leads policy briefings, strategic engagement and related communications. His responsibilities include developing a policy review of a low carbon economy to support IPCC AR5 (as commissioned by the China Meteorological Administration); managing our Pearl Delta regional studies; and coordinating the China portion of the Breaking the Climate Deadlock initiative.
Prior to joining The Climate Group, Alfred was a policy specialist and EHS regulatory consultant with ENSR China. He has led in-depth policy and regulatory analysis concerning China’s environmental protection and natural resources conservation, delivering services for major multinational corporations. He also served as policy specialist for the Professional Association for China’s Environment (PACE) and a research assistant for China Council of International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED).
Alfred holds a B.S. in Environmental Sciences from Fudan University (Shanghai), and an MSc in Environmental Economics and Policy from Peking University (Beijing).
