Kalmond Ma

Head, Pearl Delta Regional Programme

Kalmond heads up the Pearl River Delta Regional Programme.

He joined The °Climate Group in the summer of 2007 to establish our operations in Hong Kong.  He has over 10 years experience of working with NGOs, businesses, governments and academics in pursuit of environmental sustainability. Kalmond started his green career path at the Friends of the Earth (HK) and developed his passion for the environment working on a wide range of community and corporate programmes. 

Previously he was Assistant Director of the Centre for Environmental Management Education and Development at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University under the World Resources Institute’s BELL (Business, Environment, Learning & Leadership) Program.  He also served at CK Life Sciences as Assistant Strategy Manager responsible for managing strategic environmental partnerships.

Kalmond holds an BSc (with High Distinction) in Ecology and Environmental Studies from the University of Toronto, Canada and an MSc (with Distinction) in Environmental Science from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland.  He received the Dorothy Hodgkin Postgraduate Award as a PhD researcher at Queen Mary, University of London for a research project on holistic waste management and carbon sequestration.
