Michael McGuire

Director of Operations, North America

Michael joined The Climate Group’s London HQ in 2004 and now works as Director of Operations for North America.

Michael’s previous roles encompassed many areas of The Climate Group’s operations, including: member relations, fundraising, major event conception and delivery, strategic engagement of our global stakeholders, internal communications and the delivery of information-systems architecture to our global offices.

Prior to joining The Climate Group, Michael spent over seven years building corporate and public sector partnerships. Formerly Corporate Partnerships Manager for the NSPCC, the UK’s best-known children’s charity, his work won him a specialist fundraising achievement award in 2003. He has also worked as a voluntary consultant in South Africa, advising on fundraising strategies and community development projects.

Before moving into the charity sector Michael worked for four years in business development roles for the Guardian newspaper in the UK and at The Age newspaper in Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Manchester Metropolitan University.
