Lena Ruthner

Manager, International Policy Programme

Lena manages The °Climate Group’s research and advocacy work for an international post-Kyoto agreement on climate change. This role involves close cooperation with international experts and political leaders to develop the framework for a global agreement and build bottom-up approaches to implementation.

Before joining The °Climate Group, Lena worked as Policy Adviser for the German Environmental Ministry. Her responsibilities included the co-management of funding for environmental projects in post-Soviet countries and engagement in international processes. In addition, Lena worked at the European Commission, DG Foreign Relations and the Heinrich-Boell Foundation, and also undertook substantial research for institutions inc. the German Institute for International and Security Affairs.

Lena holds a Diploma in Political Sciences from Humboldt-University in Berlin and an M.A. in Post-Soviet Studies from the European University St. Petersburg, Russia.
