The °Climate Group, together with Energy Research Institute of National Development and Reform Commission and Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion of Chinese Academy of Sciences, organised the Greater Pearl River Delta Region (Guangdong & Hong Kong) Low Carbon Economy and Development Forum in Guangzhou. The forum explored the vision of a low carbon economy, including the policy and technology options needed to catalyse and accelerate the transition to the low carbon economy.
The major objectives of the forum include awareness-raising as well as communication and engagement with key stakeholders from government agencies, businesses, academic institutes and non-governmental bodies. Members of the financial sector and manufacturing discussed their specific roles in developing a regional low carbon economy and shared their experiences and best practices.
The event was funded by the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, HSBC Climate Partnership and British Consulate-General Guangzhou.
