About the Event
California Low Carbon Future: A Roadmap For Business Success is designed to give small and medium-sized companies a unique opportunity to understand what the low carbon future means for their organisations, including:
> The significance of AB32
> How to manage and reduce GHG emissions
> How to realise the benefits of taking action including energy and cost savings and increased competitiveness
> The opportunity to play a role in state, regional and community efforts to reduce GHG emissions
This is an important conference for all businesses operating in California and a must-attend event to prepare for and understand the implications of Assembly Bill 32, the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006. The draft scoping plan for AB32 has just been completed and the details of how it will be implemented are now being determined. California Low Carbon Future: A Roadmap For Business Success is timed to initiate discussion and bring together key people at this important juncture in the legislation’s implementation.
The event will start with a keynote address from Mary Nichols, Chair of the California Air Resources Board, the agency responsible for the implementation of AB32. Two interactive panel sessions will then give attendees the opportunity to hear about the variety of approaches companies are taking to prepare for emerging climate change policy. We’ll explore the very tangible benefits businesses can enjoy and conclude with a networking reception.
The event will also feature the launch of a report co-authored by The Climate Group and Arup, The Guide for the Low Carbon Economy: California , which provides step-by-step guidance and details of resources and tools to help businesses move quickly to develop a carbon-reduction strategy.
