Fujitsu Siemens Challenges FTSE 350 to Reduce Data Costs

Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European IT vendor, has issued its Dynamic Data Centre (DDC) Challenge to UK FTSE 350 companies.  Under the terms of the challenge, Fujitsu Siemens Computers will conduct a free value study that will show how an organisation can significantly reduce the cost of its data centre operations.

The DDC Challenge invites organisations to let Fujitsu Siemens Computers demonstrate where it can reduce the power consumption costs, operating costs and physical footprint of an organisation’s data centre by at least 40% - a step which would almost certainly also lead to a significant reduction in energy use. Fujitsu Siemens Computers is so confident it can achieve these savings that it has promised to donate £10,000 to The °Climate Group on behalf of any company where it fails to demonstrate this level of saving.

Dr Steve Howard, CEO of The °Climate Group comments:  “We applaud this step taken by Fujitsu Siemens Computers and really hope that its DDC Challenge will catch the imagination of UK corporates.  It is throwing down the gauntlet to some of the nation’s largest companies and promising to achieve a reduction in data centre costs that will make a real difference to their bottom line whilst also helping to cut power consumption and reduce their carbon footprint.  We believe this is a compelling win-win proposition.”
