- Alstom is developing a structured plan to reduce GHG emissions from its operations. The carbon footprint programme and energy programme were both started in 2007.

More Information
Alstom is proactive in developing technology to capture CO2 and promoting non-CO2 emitting forms of energy such as hydro, wind, and nuclear power. For existing power stations, Alstom is working to improve efficiency which reduces CO2 emissions.
Alstom is committed to sustainable mobility. Nearly 20% of Alstom Transport's R&D expenditure in 2008-09 went towards protecting the environment. That included research on reducing energy consumption and noise levels.
Alstom and The Climate Group will work together in efforts to achieve a post Kyoto international treaty on climate change as well as domestic legislation in key regions and to lower carbon emissions from the power sector, specifically through advancing carbon capture and sequestration technology.
