Greater London Authority

London

The Greater London Authority is beginning to prepare for the impacts of climate change as well as looking at possible solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

A London Climate Change Partnership has been formed, comprising various public, private and voluntary sector organisations from across London, and will work to ensure that climate change is built into decision making for the city.

London has also set itself some ambitious targets for tackling emission reductions, in line with the overall aspiration set by the UK Government's Energy White Paper to reduce emissions by 60% by 2050. Specific targets within this include generating at least enough power from renewables for 100,000 homes by 2010.
