As the largest bottled water company in North America, Nestle Waters' initiatives to reduce its contribution to climate change have a considerable impact.
Its Eco-Shape bottle is, on average, the lightest beverage bottle on the market today, reducing plastic use, energy use, and greenhouse gas emissions. The company expects it Eco-Shape bottle will save 65 million pounds of PET resin and nearly 10 million pounds of paper annually.
Nestle has also implemented a wide variety of low carbon technologies throughout its operations including hybrid electric delivery trucks and hydrogen power forklifts. Nestle is a founding partner of the Climate Group's Recycle Together program, working to develop municipal recycling programs and increase recycling rates.
