In 2007, Suntech's photovoltaic (PV) module production achieved 364 MW, which could generate 0.349 billion KWh of energy annually. That would in turn help to displace the need for burning 136,300 tons of coal, and reduce CO2 emission by 354,000 tons.

To reduce emissions within its own operations, Suntech has committed to:

• Report the company's energy costs and identify energy-saving measures

• Improve energy management across the business

• Implement advanced energy-saving technology to reduce energy use

• Undertake R&D to develop new renewable energy solutions and energy saving technologies
