Climate Change Strategy Details
Responsible for Climate Change Strategy:
The Tackling Climate Change programme is sponsored by Chief Executive Sir Terry Leahy. Project champion is David North, Community and Government Director. Nicola Goodricke is Climate Change Director. Performance is managed by the Corporate Responsibility committee, chaired by Executive Director, Corporate Legal Affairs Director Lucy Neville-Rolfe CMG. Progress is reported quarterly to the Board, a summary report sent to the top 2,000+ managers to cascade to staff.
Climate Change Strategy:
> Setting an example through measuring and reporting the company's direct carbon footprint, and using the footprint to set challenging long term targets to reduce emissions.
> Working with others to develop and implement low carbon technologies and products.
> Empowering customers to make low-carbon choices through providing the information on which to make an informed choice, e.g. carbon footprint labelling on products, and making the green alternative affordable
