Accelerating the low-carbon economy in Victoria – Business and Government Roundtable

The Climate Group is hosting a roundtable discussion on the development of the low-carbon economy in Victoria. The United Nations estimates that 50 to 80 per cent of emissions reductions needed will be delivered at the sub-national level, something that will undoubtedly require greater partnership between business and government.

The meeting will provide a platform for open and frank dialogue between senior business leaders and The Government of Victoria.

Topics will include:

• The emerging low carbon economy in Victoria;
• Current barriers to its development;
• The policies that will quicken its growth; and
  
• Grasping the opportunities inherent in that.

The following Ministers will attend from the Government of Victoria:

• The Hon. Jacinta Allan, Minister for Trade and Industry, and Regional and Rural Development
• The Hon. Gavin Jennings, Minister for the Environment, Climate Change and Innovation.
