Among the clean technology portfolio, Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is regarded as having great emissions reduction potential. In China, where the energy sector is highly dependent on coal, CCS is considered as having an important impact on future national energy security and also the fulfillment of national emissions reductions commitments.
