Climate Week NY˚C - EV20 Roundtable

This electric vehicle roundtable will follow on from the announcement of the EV20 Coalition and its founding members at the Opening Ceremony. EV20 is an initiative to speed up the global deployment of plug-in electric vehicles.

The EV20 initiative is convened by The Climate Group, and the initiative’s Honorary Chairman is HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco. The EV coalition will include a core group of 20 EV leaders – businesses and governments committed to transforming the market for electric vehicles by 2020 – and a wider network of like-minded partners.

Over the next three years the EV20 will focus on activities designed to speed up market transformation by 2020, with a particular focus on vehicle fleets, financial mechanisms and government policies.

Discussions will include:

• How can EV20 members and other partners work together to mobilize electric vehicles in commercial fleets?
• How can EV20 members work together to create and support national and state policy frameworks in support of market transformation, especially in the run up to COP16 in Cancun?
• How can EV20 members and financial institutions work together to create and support clear strategies for financing EV infrastructure and batteries?
• Are there other areas the group would like the EV20 to address?
