Hong Kong Carbon Reduction Campaign (HKCRC) Closing Fun Fair


The Hong Kong Carbon Reduction Campaign (HKCRC) comes to an end in May, with a fun fair aiming to further enhance the awareness of low carbon living among the citizens of Hong Kong. The HKCRC Closing Fun Fair will celebrate a year since The Climate Group launch of the Hong Kong Carbon Reduction Campaign (HKCRC).

The campaign aims at motivating participants to get to know more about climate change, and to start to reduce their carbon footprint at home and at work, in order to minimize consumption on energy and other resources. Planned agenda:

12:30pm - 1:30pm:  Presentation Ceremony
1:30pm - 5:00pm:    Exhibition & Fun Fair

Planned activities include:

  • An exhibition on climate change background, carbon footprint and low carbon behaviors;
  • Displays/demonstrations of low carbon technologies such as solar photovoltaic panels, domestic wind turbines and electric vehicles;
  • Game booths with themes relating to climate change mitigation and adaptation;
  • An announcement of the carbon footprint reduction of the HKCRC;
  • An award ceremony to outstanding HKCRC participants officiated by HKSAR Government officials.

Major sponsors of HKCRC are The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC) and the HSBC Climate Partnership. The one-year campaign is supported by the HKSAR Government, and funded by the Environment and Conservation Fund and the Environmental Campaign Committee.
