In conjunction with Shanghai World Expo 2010, Cisco Smart+Connected Communities, Connected Urban Development, Metropolis and The Climate Group are partnering on the Partnership for Urban Innovation Global Conference. The event seeks to address how technology can be applied to making sustainable, economic, and socially attractive 21st-century cities, and how a growing alliance of multi-sector partners are advancing these efforts.

The conference will bring together leading global innovators from cities, business, academia, and urban planning, committed to developing and using innovative solutions that address challenges in urban sustainability and climate change.

This unique event will provide attendees an opportunity to explore how cities are using information and communications technology (ICT) to create solutions that help reduce carbon emissions in metropolitan areas, while fostering economic development and bridging social inclusion.

On day one of the Conference, leading urban innovators will present perspectives on urban issues through keynote presentations and discussions in themed sessions. On day two, a tour of the World Expo pavilions from Cisco and Metropolis Association member cities will provide delegates with perspectives on leading urban innovation and enable them to experience the best practices from Shanghai and other global cities.
