- Andrew Brandler
Andrew Brandler is the Director of CLP Holdings Limited. He joined the CLP Group as the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in May 2000. On 30 September 2013, Mr. Brandler stepped down as the CEO but continues to serve on the Board and as a Member of the Finance & General Committee and the Sustainability Committee. Mr. Brandler continues to be employed in a limited capacity in CLP Holdings in order to be available to provide advice to the new CEO and support a smooth transition. Mr. Brandler is also a Director of EnergyAustralia Holdings Limited (a wholly-owned subsidiary of CLP Holdings) and a member of its Nomination and Remuneration Committee.
Mr. Brandler has had an extensive career as a banker in the energy and utility sector in North America, Europe and, since 1995, in Asia. His experience covers power sector deregulation in the United States during the 1980s, and, moving back to London in 1989, the UK electricity industry privatisation and deregulation in the early 1990s. Immediately prior to joining CLP, Mr. Brandler was Head of Asia-Pacific Corporate Finance at Schroders, the UK investment bank, based in Hong Kong.
Mr. Brandler is a member of the Operations Review Committee of the Independent Commission Against Corruption of the Government of the Hong Kong SAR. He is also one of the Co-Chairs of the Energy and Climate Focus Area Core Team of the Geneva-based World Business Council for Sustainable Development and a Governor of The Chinese International School Foundation. From May 2008 to May 2010, he was the Chairman of The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. He has an MA degree from Cambridge University, MBA degree from Harvard Business School, and is a Member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
