Beijing-based Hanergy Holding Group is China’s largest non-state-owned clean energy enterprise. Its business scope includes hydropower, wind power and photovoltaic power generation. Established in 1994, it has branches in many provinces in China and a global presence, with branches in North America, Europe and the Asia Pacific region.

Current Activities

Hanergy has a total hydropower capacity of 6 gigawatts, including the capacities of facilities currently under construction, and a wind power capacity of 131 megawatts.

Hanergy is committed to photovoltaic power generation, and to this end has invested in establishing photovoltaic industry R&D and manufacturing bases in Sichuan, Guangdong, Hainan, Zhejiang, Shandong, and Jiangsu, along with other provinces in China.

The company anticipates that the total capacity will exceed 2 gigawatts by 2012, by which time the group will have become the world's largest manufacturer of silicon thin film solar cells.

As well as growing in China, Hanergy has also been engaged in developing power plants in the global sphere. The group has signed construction agreements for solar power plants with a 4 gigawatts total project capacity in Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Jiangsu, Hainan, Shandong, Hebei and other provinces, as well as in several European countries.

Hanergy has become a comprehensive clean energy enterprise involved in such projects as the R&D of new technology, the production of high-end equipments and photovoltaic cells, the construction and operation of photovoltaic power stations, and the investment in power generation facilities and related services.
