Business leaders want a strong, legally binding deal from COP15

16 December 2009

As negotiations continue in Copenhagen this week, The Climate Group has joined with WWF Climate Savers, The Prince of Wales Corporate Leaders Group, CERES/BICEP and the Brazilian Business Council on Sustainable Development to remind negotiators and world leaders that global business leaders want the economic opportunities and benefits of a strong climate agreement.

Together, we represent more than 1000 businesses from across the globe, worth over US$11tr in market capitalization and providers of over 200 million jobs. These include leaders like Nike, Timberland, Google, Suntech and China Mobile.

These businesses advocate a strong, clear global deal that will promote and protect investment in low carbon technologies, promote clean technology innovations, and protect economies from climate impacts. They want clear signals and clear targets to guide investment in the low carbon economy.

These businesses want world leaders to achieve a strong, legally binding deal on climate change at Copenhagen.
