Caroline Bayliss has taken over at the helm of The Climate Group in Australia.
Rupert Posner, who founded The Climate Group’s Australian office in 2005, is moving to New York to take up a new position as the organisation’s Global Director of Energy.
Prior to joining The Climate Group, Caroline was Director of Global Sustainability at RMIT University in Melbourne, a unit providing public and private sector clients with strategic research, evaluation and advice on sustainability issues. She also provided specialist advice in relation to the voluntary carbon offset market and organisational carbon management strategies.
Ms Bayliss was also previously Deputy Director of the United Nations Global Compact Cities Programme, where she will maintain an ongoing role on the Advisory Council.
Ms Bayliss said: “I am thrilled to be leading The Climate Group’s activities in Australia. The group already has a range of well established programs, accelerating the development and deployment of key technologies in areas such as lighting, transport and SMART infrastructure which we will continue to drive forward. I am very much looking forward to working with our business and government partners to accelerate the clean revolution here in Australia.”
John Thwaites, Chair of The Climate Group (Australia), said: “I am delighted that Caroline Bayliss is taking over as Australia Director of The Climate Group. She brings with her considerable experience and expertise of working with both business and government to create change - the foundation of The Climate Group’s work and approach.”
