Ahead of the Rio+20 Earth Summit, The Climate Group and Swiss Reare taking the Clean Revolution discussion to climate adaptation for emerging economies.

To take part and chat live to David Bresch and Andreas Spiegel, log on to Twitter on June 5 at 12pm CET (11am BST), tagging your tweeted questions with the #CleanRevolution hashtag.

Climate change poses one of the biggest threats to humanity. Floods, storms, drought and other natural disasters already affect societies around the world. And these risks will increase as global temperatures continue to rise. Climate adaptation is an urgent priority. This is especially true for the developing world where the impact of climate change is felt most severely.

As a market leader in re/insurance solutions, Swiss Re partners with businesses, governments and civil society to strengthen the resilience of local communities and protect them against the risks in a changing climate.

In the context of Rio+20 Earth Summit which begins in just over two weeks, Swiss Re’s David Bresch, Head Sustainability and Political Risk Management, and Andreas Spiegel, Senior Climate Change Adviser, will be live on Twitter to answer your questions on climate adaptation and how Swiss Re, as a global re/insurer, can help promote climate-resilient development around the world.

The live Twitter session takes place Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 12-1pm CET (and 11am-12pm  BST).

To participate in this event, please log on to Twitter at this time and address your questions to @DavidBresch@AndreasSpiegel1 or The @ClimateGroup. Please make sure to include the hashtag #CleanRevolution, so they don’t miss your question.

After the session ends, you will find a summary highlighting the key points from the debate here on this website.
