The Climate Group gears up for Rio+20
- 29 May 2012
LONDON: In less than one month, world leaders in politics, business and campaigning will gather in Brazil for the long-awaited United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD), or the Rio+20 Earth Summit, as it is more commonly known. And The Climate Group will be there.
The conference has three official objectives:
- secure renewed political commitment to sustainable development
- assess the progress and implementation gaps in meeting already agreed commitments
- address new and emerging challenges.
The Climate Group and its partners will be in Rio+20, at the heart of the debate. We will be communicating the Clean Revolution in action by mobilizing leadership to accelerate the transition to a global, low carbon economy. Over the course of three days, we will host a program of events that will bring together leaders from government, business and finance to work towards scaling up clean technology, market innovation and visionary governance.
