LONDON: On Monday May 11, John Danilovich, Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce will join us live on Twitter to discuss the global business perspective on climate action and low carbon growth. Join us at 2.30pm London time/3.30pm Paris time/9.30am NY time to ask your questions using hashtag #CWParis.
The first ever Climate Week Paris takes place from May 18-24, 2015. The international, high-level gathering organized by The Climate Group, will showcase how business is acting on climate and help build momentum for the global climate talks that will unfold in the same city this December.
The cornerstone event of Climate Week Paris is Business and Climate Summit, which will demonstrate how low carbon solutions are being embraced by innovative companies.
Speaking during the Business and Climate Summit is John Danilovich, Secretary General, International Chamber of Commerce. John is a global business leader with extensive experience in trade-related issues. As well as holding executive board positions in the international maritime industry for several decades, John has also served as the US Ambassador to Brazil and to Costa Rica, as well as Chief Executive Officer of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, an innovative and successful foreign aid program.
Today, among many critical roles, John is also Board Member of the International Advisory Council for the Harvard School of Public Health and Senior Advisor at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
Ahead of the live Twitter Q&A, John Danilovich says: “Climate Week Paris will be a critical juncture in the run up to COP21. We have an opportunity to galvanize action—from business and governments—to secure an ambitious global agreement to tackle climate change this December. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to discuss the role of business in meeting the climate challenge, ahead of what will be an important week for us all.”
