The Climate Group kicks off 5th anniversary of Climate Week NYC

NEW YORK: Climate Week NYC - the annual global summit that convenes the world’s top business, government and thought leaders to discuss how clean tech innovation can boost growth and create jobs - is taking placing in New York from September 23-29, 2013. This year’s event is supported by Founding Sponsor Swiss Re, Lead Sponsor Hewlett-Packard and Supporting Sponsor NASDAQ. Climate Week NYC is organized by international non-profit The Climate Group.

This year’s Climate Week NYC kicked off today with the NASDAQ Closing Bell Ceremony. Prior to that The Climate Group co-hosted a panel discussion where J. Eric Smith, CEO, Swiss Re Americas, Brigadier General Stephen A. Cheney (US Marine Corps, Ret.), Former Commanding General of Parris Island, and CEO of the American Security Project and Amy Davidsen, Executive Director, The Climate Group, North America shared their insights on the opportunities, urgency and resiliency needed in order to ensure that America meets its climate challenges.

Climate Week NYC has become one of the most important annual global forums on climate change and the potential of the low carbon economy; leaders gather in New York City for a week-long agenda packed with diverse public-facing events and high-level meetings.

International non-profit The Climate Group is organizing Climate Week NYC.
