WATCH LIVE: The Climate Group marks 10th anniversary with interactive event in London

LONDON: On April 28, The Climate Group marks its 10th anniversary with an event in London with a difference: we invite you to take part by watching the event live online from 2:30pm BST, sharing your thoughts, and by adding your voice to our mass-automated tweet to leaders which calls for an urgent #CleanRevolution.

You will be able to watch the event live from 2:30pm BST in the video player below.

We encourage you to tweet about this event. Please use #CleanRevolution on social media; this is also the hashtag you will need to ask questions in the interactive session at 4:30pm BST. Follow our live tweets on @ClimateGroup.

The Climate Group was launched 10 years ago in London, in April 2004. With the support of business and world leaders, it set out to champion the powerful case for a thriving low carbon economy that cuts emissions and delivers growth and prosperity.

Marking The Climate Group’s 10th anniversary, this event will share our bold vision for a thriving low carbon future. Together with a group of visionary leaders, we will unveil the new pillars of our work around finance, policy and innovation, to unlock a #CleanRevolution that builds resilience and boosts prosperity for all.

Speakers include:

Rt Hon Ed Davey MP, UK Secretary of State for Energy & Climate Change

Rt Hon Alex Salmond MSP, First Minister of Scotland (Video message)

Richard Kinley, Deputy Executive Secretary, UNFCCC

Hon Jay Weatherill MP, Premier of South Australia

Dr Sally Uren, Chief Executive Officer, Forum for the Future

H. E. The Chinese Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Mr Liu Xiaoming

The timing for the event couldn't be more crucial; this month, global headlines will continue to be dominated by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) reports on climate change. Our event offers businesses and policymakers the unique opportunity to hear directly from one of the IPCC co-chairs about the reports’ implications.

The IPCC reports also signal the unofficial start of the critical journey to COP21 in Paris next year, where world leaders will agree a new global climate treaty.

This is clearly the critical moment when we must all come together to call for an urgent #CleanRevolution. And there are a number of ways for you to do just that at our interactive event.

During the event there will be a unique opportunity for you to feed in your opinions and questions. To do this, watch the event live online here from 2:30pm on April 28, as we and our business and government speakers share a vision of a low carbon future. Then look out for your chance to get involved in the debate later on in the afternoon.

We also ask for your involvement by helping share our urgent message to the world by joining our mass-automated ‘Thunderclap’ tweet. Tell leaders we need to act now and invest in a clean revolution that will secure a low carbon future for all by signing in with Twitter here.

You can also discuss the event before and after April 28 in our new Google+ Community, which we have created especially for your own debate. We can't wait to hear from you.

This event is invite-only. For more information contact Nicola Casey, Global Events Executive, The Climate Group at NCasey@theclimategroup.org.
