At The Climate Group, India, Jay C. Shiv's responsibilities include assisting the team in clean technology promotion through a series of activities such as consultation with various stakeholders, primary and secondary research, project development, implementation and monitoring.
Broadly, his professional interests include renewable energy, decentralized bio-energy systems design and, techno-economic and environmental assessment of renewable energy projects. He has more than six years of experience collectively in renewable energy and environment sector. Possesses experience in decentralized energy system design, preparation of proposals for rural electrification and waste-to-energy project development. In addition, he has considerable understanding of the prevailing national environmental legislations, procedures for environmental impact assessment and environmental clearance.
Prior to joining The Climate Group, he has worked with Mott MacDonald India, EPURON Renewable Energy Pvt. Ltd and Winrock International India (WII).He has worked with Mott MacDonald, a leading consultancy organization, as Environmental Engineer where he was responsible for carrying out environmental due-diligence and environmental clearances of infrastructure projects. While in EPURON, development of waste-to-energy projects based on distillery waste water was his major responsibility. In WII, his role was to look after various on-site aspects in the implementation of rural electrification project in the remote tribal villages.
Jay holds a graduate degree in Environmental Assessment and Management from the University of East Anglia (UEA), UK and he is an undergraduate in Chemical Engineering from National Institute of Technology (NIT), Raipur. Also, he is an alumnus of prestigious Ford Foundation International Fellowships Programme.
