India Energy Access Summit 2016 will bring together energy access practitioners to discuss future-proofing of energy technology, business models, quality standards, capacity and skill requirements to the evolving landscape of state and central government policies around energy access, as well as the financial/investment climate of the country.
The Climate Group will organize the one-day event on August 10 in partnership with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India and the Clean Energy Access Network. This will be the main event of the national Summit on India’s energy access business community. The second day, August 11, will be made up of parallel side events, organized in association with program partners.
On the third day of the Summit, August 12, The Climate Group and Global Lighting and Energy Access Partnership will jointly organize an Efficiency for Access day to showcase the power of energy efficiency in driving universal energy access in India. The day will feature three side events on off-grid LED outdoor lighting, Energy Efficient appliances and a Networking Industry Exhibition. See agenda and contacts for Efficiency for Access day.
As part of the broader Efficiency for Access day on August 12, The Climate Group is also hosting a discussion on ‘Accelerating adoption of off-grid LED outdoor lighting’. The event will focus on the opportunity for scaling-up high-efficient, high-quality and affordable off-grid outdoor community lighting in India and explore innovative finance approaches to encourage private investments in this space.
