India Energy Access Summit to accelerate India’s power-for-all goals through decentralized renewable energy

NEW DELHI: Speakers have been announced for India Energy Access Summit 2018, which is convened by The Climate Group and the Clean Energy Access Network, and kicks-off in New Delhi next Monday.

Taking place February 12-13, the two-day event will gather a diverse group of participants from finance, business and policy to help address energy access and develop an energy roadmap that promotes sustainable and equitable development in India.

India Energy Access Summit 2018 aims to accelerate India’s clean energy transition by scaling-up the use of decentralized renewable energy (DRE) and supporting the bid to achieve its global commitment on Nationally Determined Contributions and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The Summit will bring together stakeholders to collectively identify emerging sectoral needs, discuss innovation and business opportunities, catalyze private investments, celebrate achievements and determine ways to replicate successes.

Speakers addressing this year’s Summit will include: Shri A K Bhalla, Secretary, Ministry of Power, Government of India, Elizabeth McKeon, Head of Strategy – IKEA Foundation, Krishan Dhawan, CEO, Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation, Dr. Harish Hande, Founder - SELCO Foundation.
