Scotland gets 46% of electricity from renewables in 2013

June 2014: Figures released by the Department of Energy and Climate Change highlight that in 2013 Scotland received 46% of its electricity from renewable energy, which indicates that the nation is on track to hit its interim target of 50% for 2015. Scotland has set a goal of generating 100% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2020.
