The Government of Querétaro has prioritised 12 mitigation actions to help deliver its GHG emissions reduction targets.
The priority actions cover multiple sectors, including energy, transport, forest and land use, republic chemical industries, industry, and waste.
The most ambitious priority actions are those within the energy sector. Querétaro aims for 75% of energy consumption, across the public and private sectors, to come from renewable energy sources by 2050.
Implementing these actions is anticipated to avoid 4.2 million tonnes of GHG emissions by 2030, and 18 million tonnes by 2050.
