Why Climate Group?

Until June 2021, when Zomato committed to the EV100 campaign, I wasn't aware of many organisations that existed in the climate space. I was amazed that Climate Group had brought together 100+ businesses to drive action towards 100% electrification of their total fleet by 2030. That’s when I decided I wanted to join the organisation.

I reached out to one of the managers in India via LinkedIn and, fortunately, there was an opening and I landed the role. I never dreamt that I would get a job like this, but now I believe I was meant to work here.

What does a regular day for you as a Project Coordinator look like?

A regular day for me involves doing outreach to businesses, supporting other team members, drafting concept notes, researching hot topics in the e-mobility domain, and engaging with external stakeholders - specifically businesses as well as government representatives.

What do you enjoy most about working at the Climate Group?

I absolutely love the culture here. I can reach out to anyone, anywhere, and they are always keen to respond, which is something I cherish. I feel heard and seen in this organisation. Not to mention the flexible working culture here, which I wouldn’t trade for anything.

What have you learnt from working at the Climate Group?

My time at Climate Group is the beginning of a professional journey that I’m embarking on. I’ve grown a lot since I started here last year, professionally as well as personally.

Leading a project comes with its own set of responsibilities and I am grateful to the team for entrusting me with these. I’m growing my knowledge-base in the e-mobility domain to inform the discussions that I have on a regular basis. It’s onwards and upwards from here.

Who or what inspires you in your line of work?

I’m a part of the Transport Systems team and I am in awe of the diverse experience that the team members bring to the table. This is the best start I could get! I always leave our team meetings inspired. Seeing the team enjoy the work that they do makes me want to push myself harder every day and keep growing in the organisation.

How do you stay motivated to keep driving climate action, fast?

On the tough days I remind myself of the amazing work that we, Climate Group, are doing and that helps me persevere. One goal that I’ve set for myself is continued learning, and I enjoy reading to boost my motivation.

Other times, it comes down to the team; I see the whole India team working so hard and that pumps me up.
