Under2 Coalition coronavirus statement

Our thoughts go out to our members, partners and colleagues around the world. We are thinking of the huge strain this puts on them, and the people and communities involved. We are concerned at the huge impact this will have on people’s health and livelihoods and are committed to offering support in any way we can.

In these challenging times, our commitment to tackling climate change also remains unchanged. To that end, we believe it is important that our operations continue as normal, even if this means evolving new and different ways of working.

We are closely monitoring the situation, particularly with regards to the Under2 Coalition General Assembly, which is due to take place at COP26. We are dedicated to delivering this event as fully as circumstances allow and are in regular communication with key partners. We are already preparing to ensure the crucial networking and dialogue on climate change can continue.

Ultimately, seeing the global response to COVID-19 – the support people are offering and the changes being made to protect one another despite tragedy and disruption – gives us hope for how the world can step-up to deal with the biggest issues of our time.
