European Government Relations Manager

Virginia joined The Climate Group in 2015 and is a member of our States & Regions team. She leads membership engagement with European and Australian state and regional governments, manages our peer learning projects and coordination of synergies between corporate campaigns and government work.

Prior to joining The Climate Group, Virginia worked in the energy practice of CattaneoZanetto&CO, a lobbying and political consulting firm based in Rome and Brussels, where she was Policy Analyst and responsible for the monitoring of legislative, regulatory and policy activity in the energy field in the main Italian government bodies and regulatory authorities.

She previously interned at the European Public Affairs office of Enel Group in Brussels, where she was involved in the direct advocacy actions with the European Parliament on dossiers such as the EU Internal Energy Market, 2050 Energy Roadmap and the Backloading proposal to reform the Emissions Trading System.

Virginia holds a MSc in Environmental Policy and Regulation from the London School of Economics, UK, where she graduated with a dissertation on “Framing Climate Change: the uncovering of communication barriers through Italian lenses”.

An Italian national, she has lived in the US and Belgium.
