Sarah Duffy

Government Relations Manager, the Americas

Sarah Duffy joined the Climate Group in 2018 as the Government Relations Manager for the Americas. She leads the member engagement for the Under2 Coalition in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America, including engaging members with policy workstreams, facilitating connections between members, and identifying opportunities for additional policy and technical support.

Prior to joining The Climate Group, Sarah worked with U.S. states on electricity law and policy at the Georgetown Climate Center, where she coordinated joint comments on changes in U.S. federal greenhouse gas regulation and supported U.S. state attendance at COP23.

She previously worked at the Emmett Institute on Climate Change and the Environment at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, where she researched law and policy issues related to energy, methane regulation, and California climate change policy. She also worked for the World Resources Institute in Mexico City, where she analyzed the governance of urban areas in various countries.

Sarah holds a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Latin American and Caribbean Studies from the University of Michigan. She is based in the New York office. She’s fluent in English and Spanish.
