Zainab Agha

Project Coordinator, Under2 Coalition

Zainab is the Project Coordinator with the Under2 Coalition at The Climate Group. She has always been passionate about climate and environment, and this steered her toward pursuing a career in climate action and sustainability. She studied Environmental Science from the University of Nottingham (UoN) with Honors. During her time at UoN she went on several excursions to conduct fieldwork on environmental management, dendroclimatology and soil science. Thereafter, Zainab was certain she wanted to focus on climate change and learn more about ways to mitigate and adapt to the climate emergency. She then pursued her masters in ‘Climate Change and Environmental Policy’ from the University of Leeds. Her Masters dissertation focused on ‘The role of science in environmental policy’ and she used the UNCCD’s Science Policy Interface (SPI) as a case study wherein she interviewed members of the SPI and UN officials. During her masters she was taught by some of the brightest minds in climate science who have been lead authors for the IPCC reports, their unwavering dedication and knowledge about mitigation, adaptation and climate modelling was contagious and further fueled her passion for climate action.

She started as an intern with the Business Actions team at The Climate Group supporting the delivery of critical strands of all the campaigns.

Zainab loves being out and about in nature taking photos, painting, reading and writing poems in English and Urdu.
