NEW YORK: From September 21-28 2015, The Climate Group will host the seventh edition of Climate Week NYC, the leading international platform on climate change and the low carbon economy.
The Climate Group’s signature event on Monday, September 28 will feature global figures - and new voices - from the worlds of business, government and society who are leading the transition in energy, finance and technology.
They will share their powerful vision of a strong, low carbon economy which brings prosperity to all; the innovation which is shaping it; the clean energy revolution that is powering it; and the finance mechanisms that are making it possible.
Taking place in just 100 days, we invite you to join us for a week of high-profile events in and around New York City during the most important year for climate action in history.
The week-long series of events will be hosted by leaders driving change on the local, regional, national and global levels. And this year Climate Week NYC will also be held in conjunction with the UN General Assembly’s discussion on the post-2015 development agenda, just months ahead of the 21st UNFCCC Conference of the Parties (COP21) which is set to take place this December in Paris – to secure a global climate agreement.
In 2014, US Secretary of State John Kerry, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and Apple CEO Tim Cook were just some of the speakers at Climate Week NYC Opening Day. And over 144 Climate Week NYC affiliate events were hosted by organizations, governments, companies and universities in the form of conferences, lectures, high-profile debates, concerts, community projects, screenings, closed door meetings and art exhibitions.
Although the events are unique in style and presentation, Climate Week NCY leaders share a singular mission: to drive collective and ambitious climate action now.
