What is Climate Week NYC and who attends?

Every year, we bring together heads of state, global business leaders, philanthropic leaders, and civil society to accelerate climate action at scale. Organized by Climate Group, Climate Week NYC marks seventeen years of convening the leaders and institutions shaping the global climate agenda.

This year's Climate Week NYC will focus on the energy, the impact, and the action that we drive together. It centres on two invite-only, flagship moments across two days: the Opening Ceremony and The Hub Live. The summit provides a strategic platform for senior leaders to move beyond ambition and into delivery - aligning capital, policy and corporate action at the scale required to meet the climate challenge.

The Climate Week NYC Events Program runs across twelve themes:

  1. Buildings and Infrastructure
  2. Climate and Health
  3. Energy and Electrification
  4. Environmental Justice
  5. Finance and Clean growth
  6. Food and Agriculture
  7. Industry and Supply Chains
  8. Nature, Land and Oceans
  9. Policy, Governance and Leadership
  10. Sustainable Living, Cities and Communities
  11. Technology and AI
  12. Transport and Travel

With 1,000+ events a year, we invite all communities and individuals to engage in Climate Week NYC by hosting an event, participating in events and sharing their experiences of ambitious, inclusive action. Find out more.

Why New York City? Why now?

Climate action is now a matter of global economic competitiveness and security. 2026 will be a year of profound changes. Decisions on energy, industry, finance and resilience are being made in real time, shaping economic, climate and geopolitical realities for years to come.

Climate Week NYC is the world’s largest climate event and a global platform for advancing climate and economic progress at scale. New York City is where global agendas converge. Each September, heads of government, ministers, CEOs, investors and civil society leaders gather in the city in coordination with the UN General Assembly, ensuring a rare concentration of political authority, financial capital and institutional influence.

At a time of increasing economic, geopolitical and climate risk, Climate Week NYC is where momentum becomes direction – from meeting rooms into policy frameworks, board decisions and international negotiations.
