Project Manager, Zero Carbon Steel

The Climate Group is seeking a dynamic Project Manager to design, develop and drive forward a major new initiative that will accelerate ambition and investment in zero carbon steel production amongst major steel companies.

Steel is a key sector in the energy transition. It is the world’s largest materials industry with a turnover of 1 trillion US dollars, and is 10 times larger than the aluminium industry, more than seven times larger than the copper industry and four times that of the cement industry. As recognised by the EU in its long-term strategy, heavy industry sectors will play a key role in reaching carbon neutrality by 2050, and this project will be focused on developing a compelling demand signal for zero carbon steel. A further ambition is to develop a replicable approach and model that could be used to drive forward change in other priority heavy industrial sectors, including cement and chemicals.

Legal Adviser

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Legal Adviser to join an international not-for-profit organisation for a 12-month fixed term contract working part-time (21 hours per week) to provide commercial and contract law support to The Climate Group, update the organisation’s suite of templates and formalize the contract management framework and its processes.

The Legal Adviser will play a key role between the project, governance and finance teams, working across the organisation to ensure the successful deployment of legal and contractual arrangements by leading on contract administration, reviewing and drafting agreements, communicating with parties to negotiate and resolve problems and address team and partner information requests, and ensuring that contract compliance standards are understood and applied across the organisation. As well as providing the business with ad hoc legal advice as and when needed, you will be identifying and mitigating legal risk and keeping abreast of regulatory and market developments that will impact the business and reviewing and drafting associated policies and procedures.
