This is the Climate Group’s primary communications’ role for driving global business action on climate change. It involves a major focus on the global energy system, including developing and delivering the integrated communications programme for our flagship business campaign, RE100, which brings together hundreds of large and ambitious businesses committed to 100% renewable electricity and influences markets from North America to Asia. The role will also manage a team driving the communications strategy across our business campaigns in the transport and industrial systems.

It comes with the opportunity to develop your own expertise and connections, championing the huge successes of our business members.

The role requires adept balancing of internal and external needs, best handled by building a clear, ambitious vision for your work in collaboration with colleagues and contacts. Senior Manager EV100+

Through its global corporate leadership initiative EV100, the Climate Group already engages over a hundred international companies worldwide, who have committed to switch their fleets to electric vehicles by 2030. Through this bold demand signal, they drive the market transition towards making electric vehicles the new normal, both for business fleets and the general public.

The Climate Group is looking to build on its existing EV100 network by creating and additional, dedicated EV100+ commitment targeted at creating a market signal for medium and heavy duty zero emission vehicles.

To drive this work, we are looking for an ambitious individual to build the EV100+ commitment and its corporate membership, as well as develop and implement a work program for participating companies to jointly address market barriers and drive the zero emission transition.

Strategy and Development Manager – Zero Emission Transport

Accelerating the shift to zero emission vehicles is essential if we’re going to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. Winning this race to zero is critical if we are to prevent future threats from climate change, and instead create a healthy, resilient, zero carbon economy with decent jobs and inclusive, sustainable growth. As we move towards COP26 – the last, best opportunity for meeting the goals of the Paris Agreement – governments, businesses, investors and individuals have a critical role to play leading this transition.

A central pillar of our current transport portfolio is the RouteZero initiative. Led by the Climate Group, RouteZero is a global platform to showcase ambitious commitments and bold action on zero emission vehicles, supporting the UNFCCC Race to Zero Breakthroughs and the UK government’s COP26 Presidency campaign on clean road transport.

RouteZero, in tandem with our other transport programme such as EV100 and the ZEV Community, provides an exciting opportunity to use the momentum being generated by COP26 to create new funded phases of work and/or off-shoot projects which can be launched after COP26 to further the zero emission transport agenda. The Climate Group is therefore seeking an experienced high-value fundraising professional to join our team as Strategy and Development Manager – Zero Emission Transport. This position will sit within the global Fundraising directorate, but will be closely integrated with the RouteZero and the wider Climate Group transport team. The postholder will be tasked with generating enthusiasm for our transport work amongst foundations, governments and corporate funders, and co-creating compelling propositions for future work by curating co-creation dialogues between funders and the Climate Group transport team. Our ultimate goal is to secure one or more pledges for future support by COP26, to then launch new phases of work in 2022.
