Project Officer – Energy Transitions

The Climate Group is seeking a talented individual with strong knowledge of the operating policy and regulatory landscape of India’s clean energy system. The post-holder will work on our energy transition initiatives, which aim to accelerate corporate demand of electric vehicles and renewable energy, and mainstream energy productivity within businesses. She/he will deliver on India-specific strategies working closely with partners, government and donors.  

The position will report to the Senior Manager - Energy Transitions. This role is suited for someone who has experience in policy research, is up-to-date with the clean energy space, has the desire to influence climate actions through business and governments, and has managed day-to-day project activities. 

While the post-holder will work across our corporate initiatives, her/his main focus area will be to drive electric mobility projects in India. Additionally, she/he will support the teams in maintaining corporate connections, doing programmatic research and strategy, delivering project outputs, reporting, fundraising and supporting communications.

Program Officer – Americas

The Climate Group is looking for an organized professional passionate in making a difference on climate change to join its dynamic team in the New York office as a Program Officer – Americas. They will have the opportunity to play a critical role in driving ambitious climate actions in state and regional governments by engaging with relevant government stakeholders.

Head of US Programs, North America

This is an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial leader with experience working with corporations and governments in the US and Canada to join an international not- for-profit. Reporting to the North American Director of The Climate Group, this professional will develop and deliver the North American strategy to enhance closer collaboration with our networks of business and sub-national climate leaders to drive greater greenhouse gas emissions reductions. Given the latest IPCC 1.5C report on global warming, the need to accelerate action is paramount.  

In this key position, you will work closely with the Executive Director of North America and be part of our global Business Action team, which uses best-in-class approaches to develop programmatic interventions to advance the clean energy future and to help our partners accelerate their leadership and ambition on climate action. Our current corporate campaigns drive renewable electricity, energy productivity and electric mobility. In addition, you will work closely with the global Under 2 Coalition team which works directly with government partners to drive net-zero ambition and action, through pathways, policy, and transparency. The role also works in close collaboration with The Climate Group’s global cross-functional teams (Communications, Fundraising, and our regional offices).

Senior Development Officer, North America

The Climate Group (TCG) is seeking a development professional with a background in relationship and grant management. This role will work within the Global Development & Fundraising team to help increase The Climate Group’s impact in accelerating climate action by securing strategic funding via targeted prospecting and high-quality proposal development. 

S/he will support income generation from all major funding sources including charitable foundations, institutional funds, individual major donors, and philanthropic partnerships with corporations. As Senior Development Officer, s/he will build and manage a portfolio of funders, development pipelines, and fundraising campaigns/event plans to meet the financial and non-financial targets of TCG’s programs in line with global strategy. This will involve identifying, researching, and cultivating new sources of as well as maintaining and deepening relationships with existing partners to increase income. S/he will be well organized, proactive and ambitious, and detail oriented. 

The Senior Development Officer will report to The Climate Group’s Head of US Fundraising.

Senior Project Manager

Opportunity to join leading international climate NGO working on an exciting project with regional governments in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Peru. 

The Climate Group is looking for a talented and experienced project manager to lead a multi-country capacity building project on Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) and long-term decarbonization planning. Working closely with The Climate Group's Under2 team, the project partner organizations and local implementation partners and stakeholders in Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Peru, you will play a key role in guiding and implementing the day to day activities of the project.

This role will work within the Global Development & Fundraising team to help increase The Climate Group’s impact in accelerating climate action by securing strategic program funding via targeted prospecting and high-quality proposal development.

Senior Transparency Coordinator

The Climate Group is looking for a talented and ambitious knowledge management professional with substantial relevant experience to join its dynamic team in London as Senior Transparency Coordinator. You will have the opportunity to play a critical role in driving ambitious climate action by engaging with relevant stakeholders across government, business and civil society as well as projects related to pathway planning, transparency, and policy innovation. 

Climate action by states, regions, cities, business and investors has increased substantially since the adoption of the Paris Agreement. Tracking progress towards climate commitments and targets is essential for the credibility of these actors. The Climate Group supports a collaborative effort amongst 30+ organizations to assess and communicate the impact of such climate action. You will support the Head of Climate Transparency and Pathways to deliver on this project. 

Additionally, you will work with various members of The Climate Group’s Under2 Coalition team to implement the knowledge management strategy of three large capacity building projects ensuring replication of learnings across the states and regions in the Under2 Coalition.

Please include a CV and cover letter, noting which area of our work you are interested in, the period you would be available for and how many hours per week you could commit to.

Volunteer positions are unpaid, but a daily stipend to cover appropriate travel and lunch expenses is provided.
