Overview
The transport sector is a significant contributor to climate change, accounting for around a quarter of global energy-related greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Electric transport offers a major solution in cutting millions of tons of GHG emissions per year, as well as curbing transport-related air and noise pollution.
We're now at the stage where the market is ready for mass roll-out. Working with leaders from businesses and governments, the Climate Group is creating powerful coalitions that accelerate the speed and scale of this transition. Together, we generate powerful demand signals for market acceleration, and push for ambitious policy leadership at all government levels.
What we do on transport
Corporate leadership on electric transport
EV100 is the Climate Group's global initiative bringing together companies committed to accelerating the transition to electric vehicles (EVs) and making electric transport the new normal by 2030.
EV100 members are increasing demand for EVs, influencing policy, and driving mass roll-out - helping to make EVs more rapidly affordable for everyone.
Best practice exchange between sub-national governments
The ZEV Community brings together all levels of governments to share best practice and learn about exciting ZEV (zero emission vehicle) initiatives taking place around the world.
The ZEV Community is co-hosted by the Under2 Coalition and the ZEV Alliance, in partnership with C40 Cities and the U.S. Climate Alliance.
Calling for 100% electric car and van sales in the UK by 2030
The UK Electric Fleets Coalition, led by the Climate Group and BT Group, brings together dozens of businesses calling on the UK Government to bring in policies to achieve 100% electric car and van sales by 2030.
