Eveline Speelman is a Partner and Board Member at Systemiq, where she established and leads the Amsterdam office and directs the firm’s global work on Energy. SYSTEMIQ is a systems-change company – a “think-and-do tank” – that partners with business, finance, government, civil society, and philanthropy to accelerate the transition to a net-zero, nature-positive, and more inclusive global economy.
Eveline brings more than 15 years of leadership experience across strategic advisory, thought leadership, innovation, and partnership building in both the public and private sectors. She joined Systemiq following a career at McKinsey & Company, where she founded and led Sustainability Insights, developing analytical tools and models to advance sustainability strategies. Her expertise spans the design of national and industrial decarbonisation pathways, energy transition strategies, and support for companies and investors in creating new business models, scaling clean technologies, and navigating the opportunities and challenges in the shift to a lower-carbon economy.
Eveline holds a PhD and degrees in Hydrology, and Chemistry, Pharmacology & Earth Sciences from Utrecht University and University College Utrecht. Her combination of strategic and economic consultancy experience with doctoral research on Eocene Arctic climate reconstruction - through geochemical proxy analysis and climate modelling - gives her a rare perspective on global climate issues.
