Jenny Chu, Head of Energy Productivity Initiatives

Jenny is the Head of Energy Productivity Initiatives, where she is responsible for managing and delivering initiatives in collaboration with corporations, governments and organisations committed to accelerating energy productivity. Currently, Jenny is leading the roll-out of EP100, a campaign showcasing leading companies who have pledged to improve their energy productivity and doing more with less.

She is also heading the Climate Group’s emerging portfolio of work with heavy industry sectors, including steel, aluminium, cement and chemicals.

Prior to joining the Climate Group, Jenny was based in Beijing for seven years as a Principal Consultant for Azure International and Camco Clean Energy, where she advised corporations, SMEs, investors, and local governments on carbon management, energy efficiency, and climate risk management.

From 2011-2014, she directed “Greening China’s Supply Chains: A blueprint for optimising energy efficiency” a multi-year project implemented in partnership with the China National Textile and Apparel Council, the International Finance Corporation, The North Face, Nautica, Timberland, Levi Strauss, Adidas Group, H&M, GAP, and 40 textile suppliers located across China.

Jenny began her career at the Environmental Defense Fund, where she worked on projects related to sustainable seafood purchasing and the creation of marine protected areas.

Jenny holds a B.A. in Communication Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles and a MSc in Environment and Development from the London School of Economics. She is a US national and is fluent in Mandarin.
