Mike Peirce
Executive Director of Systems Change
Mike leads Climate Group’s work on driving change in key markets across four of the most impactful areas of climate action: energy, heavy industry, transport and food. This includes high-profile campaigns that secure climate commitment and climate action from some of the world’s most influential companies: from growing demand for renewable electricity (RE100 and the 24/7 CFE Coalition), electric vehicles (EV100) and zero carbon materials (SteelZero and ConcreteZero), to driving energy efficiency (EP100).
Mike has worked with companies across the world on climate and sustainability issues for over 20 years, spending more than a decade at the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), including as Director of Executive Programmes and Director of Strategy and Communications. Before joining CISL, he was Chief Operating Officer of AccountAbility where he led the development of the AA1000 framework for sustainability accounting and reporting.
Mike started his career as a business consultant for the COBA Group, following studies in politics, philosophy and economics at the University of Oxford, and international relations at the School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University.
