Clean Energy
We are drive the clean energy transition through our corporate initiatives: RE100, EV100, and EP100.
Major US companies such as Mars and Clif Bar have made ambitious commitments to use 100% renewable electricity by 2030; Lyft and Lime are transitioning to 100% electric vehicles; and Hilton is rolling out an energy management system to achieve a 40% energy productivity improvement by 2030 against a 2008 baseline.
At least 38 RE100 members reported accounting for 100% of their US electricity needs with renewables.

Local and State Action
We engage crucial local and state governments to drive climate action. There are 16 Under2 Coalition member states and regions in North America, from the US and Canada. These leading states and regions have unique and ambitious goals for achieving climate action.
California, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Washington and New York State all have plans to achieve economy-wide, net-zero emissions by 2050.
Nine North American states and regional members have more ambitious low-carbon standards than their national governments; and seven have 100% renewable energy or electricity targets by or before 2050.
Local governments are critical players in addressing climate change. New York City is taking the lead and just committed to electrify its fleet by 2040.

Projects and Events
Our work in North America is also represented through targeted projects and dynamic events.
The Industry Transition Platform (ITP) works with Under2 Coalition governments from highly industrialized regions across North America and Europe to develop strategies to cut industry emissions, while supporting jobs, growth and prosperity.
Climate Week NYC, hosted annually by the Climate Group, is the time and place where the world gathers to showcase amazing climate action and discusses how to do more. In partnership with the United Nations and the City of New York, Climate Week NYC brings together voices from across the spectrum to debate and implement climate action.
Climate Week NYC 2021 will take place September 20-26. We invite organizations and individuals from all over the world to join us for the week.
