Black to the Future: Radically Imagining Liberatory Futures

Apr 23 2021, 23:00 UTC - Apr 24 2021, 00:00 UTC

Apr 23 2021, 19:00 EDT - Apr 23 2021, 20:00 EDT

There is no such thing as a sustainable, environmental future without thriving Black communities. This discussion will center and radically imagine an environmental future–places where Black people can thrive! We have to imagine what that looks like and co-create it.

We will hear from an intergenerational panel of environmental leaders on their thoughts and vision of a future where Black people can thrive, imagine, and create towards liberation, justice, and equity.

Speakers include:

  • Destiny Hodges, Founder & Co-Executive Director, Generation Green
  • Dr. Frances Roberts-Gregory, Future Faculty Fellow, Northeastern University
  • Dr. JT Roane, Assistant Professor of African and African American Studies, Arizona State University
  • Dr. Michael Dorsey, Energy Investor, IberSun Solar
  • Tamara Toles O'Laughlin, Environmental Advocate & Strategist
  • Valencia Gunder, National Organizing Lead, RBG New Deal, Movement for Black Lives

This is a free event. Black in Environment accepts donations here.
