Earth Uprising International along with EARTHDAY.ORG, Education International, and Hip Hop Caucus are coming together for three separate parallel climate summits on April 20 and 21 ahead of the Biden Administration’s global leaders’ climate summit. The three days of action begin on April 20 with a four-hour digital youth-led summit held by Earth Uprising, in partnership with international youth climate activists.
Earth Uprising’s summit “Youth Speaks: Our Message to World Leaders on Earth Day 2021” will be divided into an opening and closing session, and six short sessions that are based around specific issues. Youth will create demands in each of these areas, which will then be presented to President Biden’s World Leaders Summit. These six sessions are: 1) Freedom to Peaceful Protest and Protecting Democracy 2) Climate Education and Climate Literacy 3) Climate Migration, Borders and Human Rights 4) Zero Emissions Timeline and Transition to Renewable Energy 5) Preparing the Youth Movement for COP 26 and 2022 6) The Youth Perspective on Adaptation.
This summit will be livestreamed on April 20th, from 3:00 p.m. EST to 7:00 p.m. EST on earthuprising.org/youthspeaks2021 and on @earthdaynetwork’s website, Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, YouTube, and GEM-TV.
