Through this webinar, the EU-USCA Climate Risk and Resilience Cooperation program will provide attendees with a deeper understanding of climate-related risk management frameworks that can be applied to incorporate climate considerations throughout an organization and help organizations improve internal decision-making and risk management. Several climate-related risk management frameworks, standards, and reporting requirements have been developed in recent years.

In the EU, corporate sustainability reporting has been mandatory for publicly traded companies since 2018. Disclosure requirements such as the EU Sustainable Finance Reporting Requirements and standards from the Global Reporting Initiative, the Sustainable Accounting Standards Board, and the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures are designed to help publicly traded companies understand, assess, manage, and disclose climate-related considerations. These standards are designed to enable securities issuers and other entities to provide decision-relevant financial information on risks and opportunities associated with climate change to capital market investors. These risks and opportunities, such as those “presented by rising temperatures, climate-related policy, and emerging technologies in our changing world,” have real-world implications for the financial viability of the businesses and investment opportunities seeking investor capital.
