What is climate change?
Climate change, characterised by global warming, is the defining challenge of our time. It results from the excessive emission of greenhouse gases, primarily carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4), into the atmosphere. These gases trap heat and cause the Earth's average temperature to rise, leading to various ecological and societal disruptions.
Transitioning to net zero
Net zero refers to the state in which the total greenhouse gas emissions produced by human activities are entirely offset by the removal of an equivalent amount of emissions from the atmosphere. Achieving net zero emissions is a crucial milestone to combat global warming and is essential to limit the rise in global temperatures to a manageable level.
This involves transitioning to renewable energy sources, enhancing energy efficiency and phasing out fossil fuels, among many other meaningful climate solutions.
The consequences of global climate change
The effects of climate change are far-reaching and impact our whole world. These are only some of the impacts caused by climate change.
Habitat destruction and ecosystem shifts, along with a heightened risk of species extinction.
Climate change disrupts infrastructure, agriculture, and industries, resulting in increased costs and loss of livelihoods.
More frequent and severe hurricanes, droughts, floods, and wildfires.
Altered precipitation patterns affect crop yields and water availability.
Caused by added water from melting land ice and the expansion of seawater as it warms.
Climate-induced migration and disputes over resources can lead to social conflicts.
Clean energy and renewable energy
One of the most effective solutions to combat climate change is the transition to clean and renewable energy sources. Clean energy refers to energy sources that produce minimal greenhouse gas emissions, while renewable energy is derived from naturally replenishing resources such as sunlight, wind, and water. Our organisation is at the forefront of promoting clean and renewable energy solutions as a means to mitigate climate change.

We organise several significant events aimed at advancing the global effort to combat climate change and participate in COP each year.
We convene our powerful networks for Climate Group Asia Action Summit, in the fastest growing economic region on Earth to ask: how can Asia become the green economic powerhouse of the future?
We focus on two of the region’s biggest decarbonisation opportunities: the industrial and clean energy transitions.
Climate Week NYC is the largest annual climate event of its kind, bringing together some 500+ events and activities across the City of New York – in person, hybrid and online. Each year, business leaders, political decision takers, local change makers and civil society representatives of all ages and backgrounds, from all over the world, gather to drive change, speed up progress, and champion change that is already happening.
Over 250 climate leaders gather in Washington DC each year for the US Climate Action Summit. The agenda is designed to facilitate big conversations on stage, while allowing delegates to drill into the details in curated and closed-door workshops and roundtables.
The United Nations Climate Change conferences, known as COP meetings, serve as a forum for countries to discuss and negotiate global climate policies and agreements.
