What is 24/7 Carbon Free Electricity (CFE)?
It means operating on 100% carbon-free electricity, 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. This works by matching electricity demand with carbon-free generation, where and when consumption occurs.
Why is 24/7 Carbon Free Electricity Important?
The traditional model of 100% annually matched renewable electricity consumption still requires fossil fuel electricity at certain times because renewables are not available at all hours. Increased hourly-matching ensures that corporates rely less on fossil fuels.
